Delhi Police adds more trouble to TTV Dinakaran as police files bribery case against him

Delhi's Crime Branch registered a case against TTV Dinakaran today in a case of attempting to bribe the Election Commission of India (EC) for the AIADMK's symbol which has added more trouble for Sasikala's nephew TTV Dinakaran.

Sasikala's faction adopted the hat symbol after the Election Commission froze the two leaves symbol of the AIADMK acknowledging the split in the party.

Police arrested Sukesh Chandrasekhar from Hyatt hotel on Sunday. Delhi Police chief spokesperson Dependra Pathak confirmed the arrest.

Police has recovered 1.3 crore from Sukesh Chandrasekhar which he was planning to bribe the EC officials with. A total of 50 crores were to be paid as a bribe to the officials of the Election Commision

An FIR has been filed under Section 8 of the Prevention of the Corruption Act. Section 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC has also been invoked.

TTV Dinakaran, who is considered to be a close Sasikala aide, will be served notice to join the investigation.

The Delhi police's case against Dinakaran comes even as a major crisis looms in the state government with a section of ministers revolting against him and seeking his resignation as party deputy general secretary.
