Mora cyclone expected to cause heavy rains in Odisha and Northeastern states

In the next 24 hours, the cyclonic storm Mora is likely to hit the Bangladesh coast. Heavy rainfall is expected in northeastern states and West Bengal according to the Meteorological Department.

The cyclonic storm has moved north eastward in the last 6 hours with a speed of 12 kmph. The cyclonic storm is expected to intensify in the next 24 hours.

Rainfall is expected in most of the places ranging from heavy to very heavy rainfall. The places expected to receive heavy rainfall include Tripura, Odisha, Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh. According to the forecast, extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Assam and Meghalaya.

As the condition of the sea would be very rough along the coasts of West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea in the next 24 hours.
